The Oklahoma Federation of Business
Women, Inc. was founded in 1919; founding local organizations were
Okmulgee, Tulsa, Muskogee, Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Guthrie and
McAlester. Since 1919, the Oklahoma Federation of Business Women,
Inc. (also referred to as OBW) has been building women's careers and
skills by holding workshops, seminars, and legislative events; providing
scholarships; building public issues awareness through media; and much
more. Our members also make a difference though our local organizations,
each with their own projects, scholarships and programs. Together, we are Oklahoma Women, Working to Make a
Difference! What makes us different? Our membership is diversified.
It does not represent any one specific industry or profession. It does
not focus on just one cause. It is not limited to just working women.
And is does not restrict male membership. Our membership is open to
all that believe in our mission.
Why OBW? Members benefit from networking,
opportunities, resources, career positioning, education programs and
visibility. You are in control of you OBW time and decide how involved
you want to be at the local and state levels. Local meetings are a great
opportunity to get away, meet people, exchange ideas, gain information,
and possibly make the connections one needs to move forward their
career.
